Australian-born, Lemeau’s career easily led to Interior Design.
After spending a few years as a fashion editor for Vogue Australia then handling the marketing for the New York International Wool Secretariat, Lemeau was ready to start the next chapter in her career: establishing her own Interior Design studio, Lemeau et Cie. She managed her new venture while still freelance editing for TheNew York Times Sunday magazine’s interior special sections. No easy feat, to be sure.
A passionate traveller, she loves visiting exotic countries looking for inspired design for herself and her coterie of collector clients. Her style is to always strive for exciting, livable and balanced spaces by attaining an extraordinary mix of color, involving beautiful fabrics, patterns and textures. And accenting it all with furniture of great line or exotic character.
In 2010 her time will be split between writing her new blog, Decorator’s Insider, working with clients from her base in New York and working with architects and artisans in Merida, Mexico where she is constructing her colorful new house – and another exotic garden – putting into practice her own design passions.
